Finding Purpose During the Pandemic

2020 has challenged us all on a social, economic, health and personal level. Many of us have fought battles no one else knew about and have shed silent tears. Some of us have felt like giving up on our goals and some.. on life altogether. We have witnessed so many people lose their peace of mind, their jobs and even their lives. We have watched how this pandemic, continued social injustice and more has flipped the lives of soo many individuals up side down. We are now living in this new normal and many of us are just beginning to admit that, things will never go back to how they were before. Nowadays, peace of mind is the most valuable thing that we have. And, our ability to pivot in challenging situations, specifically inconvenient, unforseen events, is a superpower. It is YOUR superpower.

My friend, what I am about to say, I say with NO intent to disregard any of the souls that are no longer with us. But, I want you to know that YOU are still standing because your marathon is not over. You are still standing, because you still have a purpose to fulfil. You are still standing because, you are not finished yet AND God, is not through with you yet. He still wants to work for you, with you and through you! He still wants to manifest HIS purpose in your life. He will complete what he has started in you, but you must be willing to do your part. You must commit to the process. You must, keep going!

I am stopping by today to encourage you to KEEP going. I know, 2020 did not pan out how you hoped or even how you expected. Listen, we ALL are feeling this way. No one expected the pandemic to occur or to effect all of our lives in the way that is has. But, you’ve got to press on. Don’t give up on your goals, don’t give up on your BIG dreams, don’t give up on God and don’t give up on yourself. Setbacks are temporary, they are not set in stone. Delayed does not mean denied. “No” does not always mean never. Sometimes, it just means not right now. You’ve got to keep going!

You are strong. You are are MORE than a conqueror. You have what it takes to MANIFEST your dreams. It’s up to you to shift your focus and make it so that this pandemic and everything that has resulted from it, inspires you! If you look closely, you’ll see that even in the pandemic, a lot of people have given birth to new dreams! People have been put in positions to where they had to make a decision. Either, they could give up OR they could create something new. People have started their own businesses, others have used the extra time while being on lockdown to start their blogs and podcasts, write their books, invest in online education, read more books, spend more time with their kids and even making their spiritual life and health a priority again. Yes, there are a lot of businesses that have gone under and a lot of other negative things that have happened ALL year long.. But, I’m telling you, there are a lot of positives that have come out of it as well.

I walked into 2020 ready to manifest my dream car, move into my new apartment closer to be closer to my job, get promoted and attain financial freedom through multiple streams of income. I wanted 2020 to be a year of results. But instead, ironically, 2020 brought awareness, clarity, and exposure to some things. My eyes were opened to see things.. 2020! 2020 had other plans. Covid-19 happened, I faced challenges in repairing my credit, I also had to go back to the drawing board and revise my business branding and marketing approach.

In 2020, I even discovered areas where healing was yet needed, I met the love of my life, got promoted at my job with a raise, finished setting up my business website, published my 3rd book: The Set Goals & Slay Workbook, and I completed a 6 month mentorship program. Now, I AM preparing and expecting 2021 to be a year of results. But, those results will only come IF I build off of what I started and what I’ve learned in 2020. 2020 was necessary.

2020 was a lot of things.. But, one thing we can sum it up to be, is an eye-opener. It opened our eyes and enhanced our awareness of reality, pre-existing issues, our purpose and our ability to pivot and adjust. Also, our ability to persevere no matter how great the challenges are that we face. That IS your superpower. Lean in and embrace it. Reflect on what 2020 has shown you, use what you’ve learned and then keep going!
