Welcome to Day 3 of our Goal Success Challenge!

Today we will be setting SMART Goals! In today’s video I will break down what SMART goal looks like.

Here are my best tips for setting a S.M.A.R.T Goals:

🎯 Set a goal that is Specific. Measurable. Achievable. Realistic. and Trackable.

  • Get as specific as possible. The smaller the better.
  • An easy way to determine IF your goal is measurable & trackable is WHEN you are able to break it down into small action steps & set individual dates.
  • Approach goal-setting with the mindset of FLEXIBILITY. The target date may change and that’s okay. The important thing is to set a date to track your progress & hold yourself accountable!

🎯 Write down your goal with a pen and paper.

🎯 Write your goal in the form of “I am or “I have.” After you have clarified your goal and set a date.

7 Day Goal Success Challenge: Day 2

Welcome to day 2 of our Goal Success Challenge!

Today is all about Identify what you want. And more specifically, getting clear about what you need to do to GET or MANIFEST what you want.

Reflect back to your visualization exercise and identify the following:

  • What was a key part of your life that made it your dream life?
  • What goal did you accomplish in order for that to become your dream life?

In step one, we completed a visualization exercise that allowed us to take a look at the big picture. Step two is where we begin to zoom in and take a look at what goal(s) we need to take to get to the big picture. This is a necessary step to take before we even begin to set our goals. Let’s build the foundation first, by getting really clear about what we want and what we need to do to get there.

7 Day Goal Success Challenge: Day 1

Thank you for joining the 7 Day Challenge, where we are positioning ourselves for success in 2020!

This challenge is all about getting clear about what we want, setting strategic goals & creating an action plan that will give us our best shot at achieving our goal!

We don’t have to set goals and give up on them half way through. Many people set goals in January and by March, they’ve already given up on them. Maybe that was your story in 2019, but 2020 does not have to be a repeat.

Take the next seven days to get clear, get focused, to get motivated and prepared to slay some goals! Take a look at today’s video and grab your 7 Step Strategy Checklist & the Set Goals & Slay Workbook if you haven’t already!

Visualize what your life looks like AS IF you already have achieved or attained what you desire. Practice visualization through meditation, journaling or scripting (journaling in the present tense as if you HAVE IT now). While you visualize; ask yourself: How does it feel? What do I see? What do I hear, taste or smell? Tap in and connect with what you desire. Try to feel the emotions AS IF you already have it. As if IT IS already yours!

It Happens to Us All

As I sit at my favorite Starbucks, sippin’ on my Toasted White Chocolate Mocha, I look around at the people around me and I recognize something instantly… How different we all are. Some faces look vaguely familiar, while others I’ve never seen before. We’re all here for different reasons. However, another thought crosses my mind. We all have something in common.. we’ve each experienced something in our lives that caused us to pause or give up entirely on our dreams.

We all have a dream. We all have an idea of what our ideal life looks like. Even if you’re not clear on what your ideal life looks like or if you’ve never taken time to actually think about it, it still exists. And, what’s even more real, is the sad reality that very few people are living their ideal life. I want to change that. I am passionate about empowering people to dream big, realize that their dream is possible and to then take strategic action to make it happen!

2019 has been one hell of a year for most of us hasn’t it? I’ve seen the comments all up and down my social media timelines. I know it’s been a challenging year. We’ve experienced setbacks and disappointments that has left many of us discouraged about our futures as it concerns our dreams. Many of you paused when life happened unexpectedly and you never pressed play again. How many of you will be honest and admit that you feel stuck right now? That, 2019 didn’t quite go how you wanted or expected it to go?

Moment of transparency: Although I slayed many of my 2019 goals, I still experienced setbacks and disappointments that cause me to feel stuck. And, I say this not to brag, but to make a point.. I am so proud of myself, because THIS time, THIS year, I kept going! I didn’t press pause and just stay there. I’m still running towards my dream at a faster pace than before. Not everybody can say that. I’m thankful that I can and I’m ready to share with you how I did it and how you can to!

One of my top goals this year was to launch my coaching business, do a bit of traveling and speaking. I was hoping that the relationship I was in would progress to the next level and I was hoping I’d get my new job a lot sooner than I did. But, 2019 did not go how I was initially hoping it would go. Instead, it took 9+ months to land a new job, my 2 year relationship ended unexpectedly in heartbreak and immense disappointment and the speaking gig I had fell through. Listen, this has been one hell of a year. This time last year, I wanted to end my life. But, here I sit today at Starbucks, working on my dream and building the foundation for my ideal future. I can’t lie, I’ve been fighting off depression hard – trying not to entertain certain thoughts and distract my mind from triggers that cause me to spiral out of control emotionally when I focus on them to long. It hasn’t been easy at all. In fact, in an attempt to focus on what really matters, I’ve narrowed my focus to the point where I’ve left some people in my life and important things on the back burner.

I share all that to say this: It’s okay to be under construction. It’s okay to be a work in progress, it’s okay to be IN the process of healing and still working on your dreams. And, it IS possible to keep going even when you FEEL stuck. There are memories and emotions that have caused me to PAUSE mentally and emotionally – where I don’t allow myself to focus on certain aspects of my life; for instance, my relationships. Instead, I’ve focused on starting my business. Because, at least that is something I can control right? It’s something you have to GROW through! And, that’s okay.

Before we go, I want to share with you what has helped me KEEP going. To keep going, sometimes, you need to SHIFT your focus onto what is creating positive energy in your life. But, you want to make sure that you’re allowing yourself to heal and cope with life’s setbacks and disappointments in a healthy way. Don’t avoid or cover up what has caused you to pause or stop. Focus on it long enough to deal with it and heal. But, focus MORE your energy on positive people/influences and taking positive Action. Shift your perspective so that you view your setbacks and disappoints as lessons and opportunities to elevate.

Practical things that have helped me keep going is 1) Not procrastinating. Don’t wait to deal with the issue. Deal with it upfront. Focus on finding a solution or alternative, rather than complaining about what didn’t go right. Be solution focused.

2) Practicing mindfulness. I’ll admit, I’m a chronic over thinker, so practicing mindfulness is challenging for me at times. However, meditation, journaling and prayer have worked well for me. I’m not as consistent as I’d like to be, but just getting in the habit of doing it often helps immensely.

3) Maintaining a Positive Success Mindset. This is huge. I’ve worked hard to develop the mindset that I have and it is necessity for me, especially during this time of year. Before I had the mindset I have now, I complained all the time, I easily saw and focused on ALL things negative. I wasn’t solution focused at all. Now that I am, I am able to stay focused on my goals and KEEP going.

4) Remembering my WHY factor. During the most challenging moments of 2019, I remembered my REASON WHY and that was ALL the motivation I needed to KEEP going. There were things that came to an end in 2019, but that didn’t mean I had to stop. Nope, I grieved and am still healing, but I’ve continued making moves, because of my WHY factor!

My friend, you have what it takes to pursue your goals, live your dream and to live your life operating in your God given purpose. I know 2019 was one hell of year, but don’t let that discourage you from chasing after your goals harder than you ever have in 2020. In fact, I encourage you to start NOW. Build momentum, so you can pace yourself come January 1st.

How to Finally Achieve Your Goals

92% of people who set New Year goals don’t achieve them. That means only 8% do. Are you a part of the 8%? If not, what can you do to change that?

Many people set goals. Not all see them through to completion. I am on a mission to empower as many people as I can, to not just clarify and set their goal, but to pursue it and see it through to completion. Often times, we start out strong but for a variety of reasons we get stuck or give up. We do a good job at focusing on the reasons WHY NOT. But, we don’t put as much energy into identifying a solution. So, I’ve told you that I’m on a mission right? To empower as many people as I can to pursue and achieve their 2020 goals. I will do this by providing an opportunity; an opportunity to learn THEE strategy to clarify, set and achieve your 2020 goals. Once you learn the strategy, you will be able to use it over and over and over again.. No matter how big or small your goal APPEARS to be, the strategy works. How so? Because the strategy I wish to share with you IS flexible. It allows you to embrace trial and error, but provides the support and foundation you need to see your goal through to completion. I am a certified Goal Success Coach. But, I will be the first to tell you that you don’t just need a goal. You need to clarify and set the right kind of goal AND you need a STRATEGY.   • Paid off 1 of 7 students loans! Some progress is better than no progress.

Last year I..

  • Launched my 3rd book
  • Booked multiple radio/podcast interviews to promote my book

Before 2018 and 2019…

  • Paid off credit card debt in full
  • Graduated with degree in 5 and 1/2 yrs after failing and retaking several courses multiple times, losing scholarships and taking out $60k in student loans
  • Moved out of my parents home into my 1rst apartment paying $900+ just for rent + other expnses while working less than 40 hours a week making $10 an hour
  • Overcame shyness and fear of public speaking
  • Became more confident
  • Learned to manage my depression and anxiety in a healthy way

Listen, it doesn’t matter how small or insignificant your goals may seem to anyone else. If IT matters to you, then it IS a goal worth pursuing and achieving!

Now, you may be wondering why I’d dare to share my strategy so freely, when I’m a coach launching a coaching business. I’ll tell you why. Even with the RIGHT strategy, sometimes you need SUPPORT in the form of a human. Yeah, I said it. Some of us need a coach, mentor, accountability partner.. someone! Not, just some THING to help you on your pursuit. And, I realize that not everybody has somebody in their corner giving the right balance of cheering them on and holding them accountable. As a Goal Success Coach, that is what I’ve been trained to do. So, I’m not worried out THEE Strategy or not so secret “Secret” being out there. Many people will “know” the strategy, but won’t implement the strategy without someone to hold them accountable. With that in mind, stay on the lookout because I will be sharing an amazing opportunity to get that kind of support really soon (HINT: It’s happening SPRING 2020!) Now, let’s go slay some goals!
