Conquer Your Limiting Beliefs

The human mind is a battle field. Every day we are tempted with negative thoughts and challenging situations. Some days we fight and conquer, other days we succumb. Many people live day to day without the realization that it is up to them to fight and conquer their limitations and limiting beliefs.

IF we want to SLAY our goals, we must make the conscious decision to confront and conquer our limitations and limiting beliefs, every day.

I am going to share with you HOW you can begin to SHIFT and TRANSFORM your mindset; from a negative to a positive success “growth” mindset, that will position you to confront and conquer your limitations and limiting belief.

A limitation is anything that serves as an excuse, to justify not taking strategic action to pursue your goals. Example: I don’t have enough time or money to start my business.

Limiting beliefs are negative thoughts that you allow to justify not taking strategic action to pursue your goals. Example: I am not good enough or qualified for people to take me seriously.

Here are the facts about Limitations & Limiting Beliefs:

We ALL battle negative thoughts and challenging situations everyday.

It is within our control to combat negative thoughts and to perceive our challenging situations in a positive way.

It is possible, but it also takes practice to attain and maintain a positive mindset and optimistic perspective in life.

A positive success “growth” mindset and an optimistic perspective in life WILL help you attract and take action (steps) that are in direct alignment with the goals you wish to achieve. It will also help you ATTRACT more positive opportunities and experiences into your life.

No matter how positive/optimistic you are, you will still confront negative thoughts and challenging situations. BUT you will be better equipt to GROW through it, because of the positive success “growth” mindset that you have.

A positive success “growth” mindset will allow you to SEE your challenges (negative situations), setbacks, etc. as a learning opportunity, as a setup in disguise, an opportunity to recalibrate, to realign and more.

You decide, each time you are faced with a negative thought or challenging situation, whether or not you will allow it to control you OR if you will confront and conquer it.

The purpose of this blog post is to present you with practical tips and tools that you can use to CONFRONT and CONQUER your limitations and limiting beliefs.

If you have decided to take strategic action to confront and conquer your limitations and limiting beliefs, congratulations! You have just made a decision that will ultimately change the trajectory of your life. Because now, you are about to WORK to transform your mindset.

By implementing the following tips into your daily routine, you will begin to SEE results in your THINKING and in your overall perspective of your self, you circumstance and life itself.

What can you do to TRANSFORM your Mindset?

Meditation – You can find a number of guided and non-guided, verbal and subliminal an subliminal meditations and visualization exercises on YouTube for a variety of topics such as anxiety, stress, depression, mental or emotional healing, relaxation, energy boosting, self-love and confidence, client attraction and so much more!

Affirm Yourself – Affirmations can be extremely powerful IF you know how to utilize them in a way that will work for YOU. This is important, because many people just think of affirmations as a cliche’ quote that sounds good on the back of a book or as your caption for your Instagram and Facebook post. But, affirmations are so POWERFUL when you put them to work!

Here are a few ways you can get AFFIRMATIONS to work for you:

  • Choose 5 to 10 affirmations to write and speak out loud; with conviction/enthusiasm DAILY
  • Create affirmation Post IT Notes and to stick on your bathroom mirror
  • Download the Sticky Note app & post affirmations on your Laptop and Cellphone screen savers
  • Hack your social media news feeds by follow multiple pages that post multiple affirmations throughout the day
  • Listen to affirmations while meditating AND as you sleep *there are 8 hr affirmations on YouTube* This is a great way to re-program and transform your mind (subliminal) without having to do anything but SLEEP!

Move – Get your body moving! And while you do so, affirm yourself! You can do this a variety of way; but I’ll share what I do: I go to the gym, if I have a lot on my mind and I walk a mile around the track. As I walk, I rehearse the affirmations (goals) that I write out daily as I walk. If I’m feel low confidence, I affirm myself with affirmations specific to confidence. Sometimes I pray as I walk. Prayer is also a form of meditation.

Often times, when I’m battling thoughts of anxiety or depression, I go for a walk in the park and affirm myself. This way, I’m getting that Vitamin D and being around people without having one on one contact or having to socialize helps me during those times vs shutting myself indoors or finding comfort in my bed sheets. All I’m saying is, FIND what works for you and do it consistently.

Journal – This is a great way to clear your mind. You can make a list, you can keep it short or you can keeping writing until you feel a sense of clarity or relief. There doesn’t have to be any particular rule or format to follow. The awesome thing about it, is that it works.

Read self-help, personal growth and development books on Mindset. Authors and Experts I recommend studying are: Brian Tracy, Bob Proctor and Dr Carol Dweck. I also have a book called Empower You! Mindset Transformation: A Daily Devotional for the Mind that is a 70 Day Devotional geared towards shifting and shaping your mindset from a negative mindset to a positive, success “growth” mindset. Inside my book, I include a full list of authors/experts and books on mindset, success and personal development, that I have read and studied. In fact, everything that I share with you is based on what I have learned and applied to my own life.

My best advice is to choose multiple of these to try and begin rotating them throughout your week. Let’s say you choose to start meditating and journaling. You don’t have to meditate or journal every day.

By implementing a few of these activities into your daily routine, I believe that you will begin to not only become more self-aware, but you will develop a greater peace of mind, a positive success “growth” mindset and a more optimistic perspective in life!

8 Things to Help You Get Your Whole Life Together

Hi, My name is Kezia (Kizzy-uh)

I am a goal success “life” coach.

And I don’t have all my sh*t together.

For so long, I thought that to be a life coach, you had to have your whole life together, not realizing how unrealistic that is. I set expectations for my own self that really wasn’t fair. As a goal success coach, I’ve studied the art of setting SMART goals, which requires your goal to be realistic and attainable. Nobody is perfect. Not even the most successful and wealthy life coach in existence.

Over the past few years, I’ve learned a lot of tips and strategies to enhance personal growth and development. I’ve taken a lot of what I’ve learned and have implemented in into my daily routine and have seen results. But, here I am 4 years later, still trying to get my life ALL the way together. Of course, life will throw you a few surprises here and there AND it is inevitable that we will experience setbacks and disappointments. Many of them in fact. But, what I’ve realized is that the past few years, I’ve allowed my setbacks and disappointments to literally hold me back. Instead of pushing through and growing through the growing pains, I would just stop. Days, weeks and sometimes months would go by before I would get back on track .

December 31st, like most of the world, I turned over a new leaf. I don’t know what it is about 2020, but it just felt like I was being provided a clean slate by God & the universe. It’s like, I was given another chance to start over. And, let me tell you I have been going strong so far. We’re only two months in, but I’ve already experienced some amazing wins and a few setbacks as well. But, I’m proud of myself, because I have practiced what I preach. I have kept going!

8 Things I’m Doing That is Helping Me to Keep Going:

  1. Prayer
  2. Meditation
  3. Journaling
  4. Prioritizing self-care
  5. Cut back on eating fast food and caffeine
  6. Not being too hard on myself. If I make a mistake, it’s okay. If I miss a day, it’s okay.
  7. Not giving myself time to entertain excuses.
  8. Utilize Mel Robbins’ 5 Second Rule: Countdown from 5 and just do it! This is a great strategy to begin training your mind to shift focus from negative thoughts (excuses) and to focus on the positive instead.

There is one thing that has made all 8 so powerful for me. Consistantcy! The fact that I have done all 8 consistently has helped to:

  • Feel level-headed
  • Manage stress better
  • Get more things done!
  • Feel emotionally lighter & happier!
  • My prayer life/relationship with God is getting stronger
  • Manifested some amazing things already! (God blessed that I got a raise on my job in less than 6 months, I’ve added weights at the gym, I’ve checked something off my bucket list and had my first discovery call with a potential client!)

The key to getting YOUR whole life together is to do something different and to be consistent!

If you feel stuck or like 2020 is not starting off so great, I encourage you to try something different and to stick with it for awhile. Don’t give up on it so soon. And, when you accomplish a goal, or even a step.. celebrate. It’s okay to be proud of yourself & celebrate. But even so, the key is to KEEP GOING!

That being said, I can’t wait to see what else is to come in 2020!

How I Overcame Shyness

Growing up, I was extremely shy. In grade school, I would not say a word to teachers or peers. I would literally nod my head or point in response to a question. Because I refused to talk, I didn’t make friends, so I was always alone. Not only that, but I ended up being bullied by peers, in their attempt to get me to talk. Needless to say, those attempts didn’t work. I simply would run away or physically fight back and after school, sometimes, I would cry.

I didn’t begin to come out of my shell until middle school. By then, I was verbally responsive, making friends and participating in after school clubs. In high school, I was still pretty quiet, but I managed to make a few friends and participated in activities that forced me to speak up. It was during my Sophomore year of high school that I discovered my love for spoken word poetry. I always say that spoken word poetry gave me the courage to say everything I’d been to afraid to say. I went on to perform and tied for 1rst place in the talent show Junior year. I continued to write and perform spoken word as a way to express myself through college and post graduation. It was through that, that I found courage, and discovered my desire to motivate people and a love for socializing and being on stage.

As you can imagine, people who saw me step on stage, performing spoken word for the first time were surprised. That is a common response of those who were used to the shy girl, who never talked. I am blessed to have found the courage to step out and share what I am most passionate about with others. No longer does shyness hold me back from doing what requires me to be social and at the forefront.

If you are shy and find that your shyness is hindering you from putting yourself out there, I want you to know that it is possible to overcome! I want you to know exactly what I did to overcome my shyness.

The way that I was able to overcome my shyness, step on stage and perform spoken word without a hint of nervousness, was by doing this: shifting my mindset. I know, all I talk about it mindset, but hear me out on this one.

It all began with a shift in focus & perspective. When your mindset changes, your perspective “thoughts & beliefs” change. My thoughts and beliefs about me performing poetry that I’d written changed. I focused all of my attention and nervous energy on the message and purpose of the poem and the reason why I wanted to perform spoken word. I wrote poetry to share my story and to inspire people. I knew that in order to do that, I would have to perform at my best. I knew that if I let my nervousness take over, it would distract the audience from really hearing what I had to say. I believed that what I had to say was important and that I had to put shyness, doubt, fear and insecurity to the side. The purpose behind my desire became bigger and more important than my fears. I shifted my mindset and then I took action, leaving no room for negativity. I overcame shyness and found courage to do what I love, by doing THAT every time.

To this day, whenever I have to speak or perform in front of a group of people, I remind myself of the purpose. I focus all of my attention on that! For me, it works like magic. You know what, I tend to be less nervous the larger an audience tends to be. My guess, is that mentally, the sense of urgency increases for me, because there are more people who will hear what I have to say, more people to inspire. If you struggle with shyness, try shifting your focus. Share your thoughts in the comments below!

How to Get Unstuck

Have you ever felt stuck in multiple OR every area of your life ALL at once?

At the beginning of 2019 I set my goals and I was determined to slay each and every of them! And you know what, I started off strong. First 3 months, I was killing it. April came, and I began to lose momentum. May came I began to feel stuck, but kept pushing! And, then June came and well, I’ve just been feeling plain stuck, in every area of my life. Now, if that is not discouraging, I don’t know what is.

Now, there are a variety of things you can do to help you get unstuck. You can exercise, meditate, take a vacation, journal, etc. All of those things can be helpful in getting unstuck. But, what I want to share with you today is that “feeling stuck” is like a symptom to a bigger problem. So, think of the above examples as ways to treat the symptom and what I am about to share with you as a way to treat the root of the issue!

1) You’re feeling stuck. And, that’s okay. Everyone experiences this at some point in their life. The first thing I want you to realize, is that feeling stuck, is just that. It is a feeling. It is not an accurate indication of where you actually are. If you’ve been making moves, putting in work, taking actions steps to achieve your goals, then you are not stuck. Even if you’ve just been going round and round in circles. No matter how it feels, you are not stuck!

2) Okay, so you’re probably thinking, if I’m not stuck then, where am I? You are in transition. You are in unfamiliar territory. You are in route. Regardless of where you are, you are not where you began and if you’re feeling stuck, then you’re likely not where you desire to be. So, you need to make sure that you have a clear vision of where you would like to be. To do this, I would suggest meditation to clear your mind and a visualization exercise to get a clear picture of where you want to be.

3) After you’ve taken time to identify and clarify where you want to be, then it is time to re-create the plan. If you have set goals without an action plan, that could be a reason why you are feeling stuck. If you have a plan, but are struggling to execute the steps along the way, that could be why you are feeling stuck. So, I need you to know that it is okay to stop and re-calibrate. It is okay to re-adjust, to re-create the plan and to align. Go back and see what is not working, why it is not working and try something else! What you do today should be in alignment with what you desire to manifest tomorrow.

4) Do something different. If you keep doing what you’ve always done, chances are, you will continue to generate the same results. The point of re-creating your plan, is to ensure that you do something different. Take a risk. Step outside of your comfort zone. Stop waiting for a perfect time or to feel a certain way and just go for it!

5) Be consistent. Remember that feeling stuck is just a “feeling.” You won’t feel that way forever. Keep moving in the direction of your dreams, and eventually you will get there. And, remember this: Everything is not always as it appears to be on the surface, and if the challenges are increasing, then you’re probably closer than you think!
